1. Robatayaki Simple

Ingredients:

  • skinless chicken, cut into pieces. 
  • 5 spring onions, cut into 3 cm
  • 5 shitake mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, grated 
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Shoyu (100 mL)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar ½ teaspoon pepper powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Soy sauce (Japanese soy sauce) 100 mL
  • ½ tsp. sesame seeds

How to cook:

  • Alternately skewer the chicken, scallions, and shitake mushrooms. 
  • Mix in the spices until smooth. 
  • Grill over coals until done, turning and basting with the remaining spices. 
  • Remove them from the oven and serve them with the dip.

2. Robatayaki Delicious

Ingredient:

  • 2 pieces (70 g) of Gindara fish fillet (skinless) 
  • 2 pieces (70 g) of Sawara fish fillet (skinless) 
  • Soy Sauce120 mL Teriyaki Sauce
  • Mirin (60 mL)
  • Sake (60 mL)
  • Sugar (60 mL)

How to make 

  • Teriyaki Sauce Bring mirin and sake to a boil in a saucepan to allow the alcohol to evaporate. 
  • Add sugar and soy sauce, and mix well. Pour into a bowl, and set aside. 
  • Grill the gindara and sawara on the grill and roast both sides alternately for 5-7 minutes. 
  • Remove from oven once browned. Dip into the bowl of teriyaki sauce. 
  • Bake again for 1-2 minutes. 
  • Serve hot.
